General Practitioner. Family Practitioner
Dr. McCanna is a US trained physician. He graduated MD from the Medical College of Wisconsin, 1971.
After his General Practice Residency in Santa Barbara Cottage and County Hospitals, California, he developed a successful family practice in Santa Fe, New Mexico where he practiced until he joined Eureka Medical Clinic in February 2006. Dr. McCanna has a wide experience in general /family medicine. At Eureka he practices general medicine and is responsible for our Executive Medical Examination services.
As a General or Family Practitioner, with some 37 years of experience, Dr. McCanna brings plenty experience in the assessment and management of patients with all medical/surgical problems. When necessary, Dr. McCanna will refer the more complex problems to the appropriate specialist or sub-specialist, in our clinic or outside.

Hypertension, shortness of breath, palpitations, chest pains cardiac or heart related conditions. |

Dr. McCanna performs resting ECGs and treadmill exercise stress tests, and when necessary makes referral for other cardiac assessment and tests, such as resting echocardiography, Stress echocardiography or 24 hour Holter ECG monitoring. |

Bronchial asthma, sinus problems, post nasal drips and other allergic respiratory conditions, chronic bronchitis, COPD, other respiratory (Lung) related problems. |

Indigestion and other digestive disorders, peptic ulceration, diarrhoea and constipation, blood in stool. |

Urinary tract infections and urinary disorders such as blood in urine (hematuria), kidney stones, and other kidney diseases; prostate problems-prostatitis. |

Arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout and other joint problems; collagen vascular disorders , for instance: Lupus erythematosus. |
